Certificate in Qualified Medication Aide 

Summary

 

The course provides instruction to a person who is a certified nurse aide (CNA), has worked 1000 hours as a CNA in the past two years, and possesses a high school diploma or equivalency. Medication Aides dispense medications, provide some medical treatments under the direct supervision of a licensed professional (Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse), and can perform procedures that are defined wihtin the QMA scope of practice. At program completion, graduates are eligible to take the Indiana State licensing exam and are awarded a Certificate of Completion.

Prerequisites:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age

  • Submission of transcripts to verify high school diploma or equivalency completion

  • Verification of 1000 hours worked as a CNA in the past two years

  • Pass background screening

  • Complete physical examination & 2-step TB screening prior to class start. 

  • Pass entrance exam

  • Open Availability for classroom and clinical training.

Program Length: 12 weeks

Cost of Attendance: $975

Enrollment Fee: $100 non-refundable and will be applied toward the cost of attendance.
