Nurse Aide
Summary
The Certificate in Nurse Aide course is designed to provide comprehensive classroom and clinical learning experiences to prepare students with the basic skills required of nurse assistants according to the Administrative Standards of the Indiana State Department of Health. Instruction and practice of basic patient care skills required for Nursing Assistants are provided. Skills practiced include patient assistance with activities of daily living, personal care, transfer and positioning, vital sign measurement, intake and output measurement, restorative care, and communication. Students will practice supervised basic patient care in a clinical setting prior to completion of the program.

Pass background screening (for state licensing)

Complete physical examination & 2-step TB screening prior to class start.

Pass entrance exam

Open availability for classroom and clinical training.
Program Length: 6 weeks
Cost of Attendance: $900
Enrollment Fee: $100 non-refundable and will be applied toward the cost of attendance.
